Thanks Firewords!

I received a nice little package in the post - my copy of Firewords magazine. I'm so pleased with the outcome and very excited that this is my first official piece of published illustration. You can check out the other contributors and order a copy here.

Not so secret-7

This is the final artwork I submitted for this year's competition. I had great fun working on this project - I wish I had had more time to create even more covers. One thing I know for sure though is that photoshop definitely isn't as fun silk-screen!

The results have been announced and the secret's out! I didn't get into this year's secret-7" so now I can share what I was working on...

I discovered the treasure trove that is my Dad's stamp collection with franking from all over the world, including countries that don't exist any more. Here are some of my sketches too, can you guess the song...?

Creative Debuts I

I was very pleased to be part of the very first Creative Debuts showcase of emerging artists. The event is well and truly on the map as part of Whitechapel Gallery's First Thursday taking place at the Black and White building on Rivington Street, Shoreditch every month. I was lucky enough to have 3 of my own pieces on display as well as two of my prints created in collaboration with Caitlin.

California Winter

I am very excited to have been asked to be a contributing artist for the fourth edition of Firewords quarterly. The magazine combines short stories, poetry and artwork from all over the world. As this is the winter edition all the writing is based around this theme. I have been lucky enough to have been given two poems to illustrate. I have started to come up with a few ideas for the first poem 'California Winter'. It feels good to be (mono)printing again!!
